Longbarn

Located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons with views over to Pen y Fan, South Wales’ highest mountain, Argoed Lwyd is a converted 19th century traditional Welsh farmhouse which can accommodate large and smaller groups in the Farmhouse (sleeps 25) and the Longbarn (sleeps 18). An annex is linked to both the Farmhouse and Longbarn and can be hired with either accommodation type, extending the accommodation capacity by 13 beds.

The Longbarn has 18 beds, but book alongside the Farmhouse and you can sleep up to 56 guests!

Whether you’re a group of friends wanting an action-packed weekend away, organising a family celebration, or you’re a club wanting a social event, then Argoed Lwyd will be able to provide what you’re looking for.

Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, drying rooms and a comfortable lounge with log burner.

Taking full advantage of our location, we are licensed and approved to deliver a full range of fun, challenging outdoor pursuits, such as mountain walking, waterfall walks, gorge scrambling and orienteering. It’s the perfect opportunity to try some of our popular activities or a great present for the whole family! Children must be accompanied by at least one participating adult.

We also offer accommodation only options, for those planning to lead their own groups on an expedition. The Centre is a short walk (10 minutes) to the National Park Visitors Centre and there are many country walks in very close proximity. Our accommodation will act as the perfect base, and we can even arrange for a caterer to prepare a welcome meal for you at the end of a long day using our on-site kitchen. There is also a village pub at the bottom of our lane who serve homemade meals with a friendly welcome!

In a secluded setting, with stunning views over the Welsh mountains, Argoed Lwyd Outdoor Education Centre is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors and get away from it all.

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY DUVETS AND PILLOWS ARE PROVIDED AND WE ASK IF GUESTS CAN PLEASE BRING THEIR OWN SHEETS, DUVET COVERS, PILLOWCASES AND TOWELS.

The fully equipped kitchen has plenty of pots, pans, utensils and crockery for groups to use. There is an electric oven, a fridge and freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave.

It is an open plan communal space, with kitchen, dining area and lounge. There is also a woodburner and projector system for cosy nights in watching a film, or a raised patio with spectacular views if the weather is on your side!

If you’ve been out in the hills and got a bit damp, there is a locked Drying Room on site available for guests, that can also act as bike storage.

Please note: parking is limited at the centre, so please arrive in as few vehicles as you can.
