Better Sailing - RYA Level 3

This level 3 course aims to consolidate existing skills learnt in level 1 and 2, helping you to improve your sailing techniques and manoeuvres.

Over the two days you may also be introduced to basic seamanship skills, racing and sailing with spinnakers. This course will plan to use crewed boats, but is subject to change due to conditions.

Requirements:
- Sailing skills to the standard of Level 2 – please see RYA Brochure for assumed knowledge
- All those aged 14 and 15 must be accompanied by a participating adult, if this is not possible please look at our youth sailing scheme courses

Additional Information:
- Course runs 0930 - 1700 both days
- Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own packed lunch or grab a bite to eat at our cafe.

- National Sailing Scheme Syllabus and Logbook is an optional add-on for the course - This is the official syllabus and logbook for learning to sail dinghies, keelboats, and multihulls through the RYA National Sailing Scheme.
- Advanced Sailing Handbook is an optional add-on for the course - Designed to accompany the advanced sailing modules in the RYA National Sailing Scheme: Day Sailing, Seamanship skills, Sailing with Spinnakers, Start Racing, Performance Sailing There is an informative but easy to follow format which is packed full of detailed drawings and diagrams. This provides clear instruction on the different manoeuvres, and detailed explanations of relevant sailing theory. It follows on from the first book in the series, the Start Sailing Handbook, and is the perfect progression for people who are hoping to improve their knowledge and skills.
- All books will be given to participants on the 1^st day of the course.
