Songs From the Solent: Lantern Parade & Live Concert at Calshot Castle
Supported by funding from the Blue Marine Foundation
Lantern Decorating Workshop Followed by a Live Music Concert at the Castle
Join us for a magical evening of creativity and celebration as we showcase the ongoing restoration work of the Solent Seascape Project.
Decorate a lantern inspired by the marine species that call the Solent home. Once your lantern is complete, you will illuminate your artwork and join a lantern procession along the beach to the Castle, where you can enjoy an unforgettable evening of live music.
Live Performance by Richard Walters
Experience Songs From the Solent live at Calshot Castle on 21 November 2026.
The album comprises eight songs inspired by the people and places of the Solent. The tracks feature the sounds of nature and the voices of those who live, work, and play there. Richard visited the Solent Seascape Project's restoration sites, as well as popular coastal landmarks, gathering field recordings of wildlife, the seascape, and visitors.
Richard's live performance will include introductions to each song by Louise MacCallum, Blue Marine's Solent Project Manager.
You can listen to the EP on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Bandcamp. Twenty-five per cent of all download proceeds go towards supporting the Solent Seascape Project.

Thanks to generous funding from the Blue Marine Foundation, each ticket is subsidised.
