Marine Explorers Club sessions run on Friday afternoons. They are 1.5 hours long. The following topics have been released for the new block:

19th April Take a closer look at the Calshot coastline and discover the marine species hidden beneath the waves. Get hands-on and explore your finds, you might discover more than you think...

26th April In a Geology special, take a trip back to times of dinosaurs and the ice age to learn all about the history and journey of rocks, shingle and sand that make up Calshot! What will you find - flint or fossils?

3rd May Discover a climate-change fighting superhero of the sea - Sea Grass! Find out more about what makes them unique, and where and how they support our environment one blade at a time!

10th May Explore the consequences of climate change on our oceans and discover how species may be affected. Put your creativity to the test with some ocean-saving inventions!

17th May Marine explores takes a geographical twist! Learn how Calshot Spit was formed, discover the powerful effects of longshore drift and put it to the test with a scientific experiment.

Each session will start at Houston House with a quick introduction in the Marine Room. We will then head outside and explore the topic for the day.

This year we have included numerous surprises for our club sessions. Expect to add to the learning experience with fabulous activities like zooming down the slope in ringos whilst reviewing ocean creatures, bouldering whilst talking about sharks and designing inventions with use of our giant engineering kit pieces to bring more STEM like activities to our club.

Spaces are limited. Whilst we will allow participants to book for only one session, we encourage you to come regularly to make the most of this club and activities we will offer.

We look forward to seeing you!
