NSRA YPS Tutor

NSRA YPS Tutor

The standard course for “taster” sessions in air rifle shooting is the NSRA Youth Proficiency Scheme Tutor’s Diploma. This equips candidates to run have-a-go sessions in air rifle shooting and also to take young people for an introduction to shooting over a longer period (as in Scouts or other uniformed groups). It is the standard qualification used by members of the British Activity Holiday Association (BAHA) and also written into Scout POR’s (operating procedures).

Requirements:
- People ages 18 or over can attend the NSRA course.
- Under Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968 any person who has been sentenced (anywhere in the UK) to a term of imprisonment, youth custody or detention in a young offenders institution for a period of more than three months but less than three years is subject to a five year prohibition from having any firearm or ammunition in his possession. A person who has been sentenced to a term of imprisonment or youth custody for a period in excess of three years is prohibited for life. Suspended sentences do not attract any prohibition.

Additional Information:
- Lunch Included
- Parking Included
- The NSRA Licence that accompanies the YPS Tutor’s Diploma is valid for five years. It may be renewed if you have been regularly using the qualification so keeping a record or logbook is very important. The minimum level of use is 25 separate occasions over the 5-year period with at least 5 in the 12 months prior to renewal. Applications for renewal must be made to the NSRA before your Licence expires.
