RYA - Stage 1 Windsurfing: Ages 11 - 16

Following the RYA youth courses scheme, this course is an easy and accessible way to get started and progress in this exciting sport. Designed to get participants up and windsurfing over two full days, they will be hooked from their first try and will be riding the wind in no time.

Through a short land-based session, our instructors will introduce the equipment and will guide participants through the fundamentals of windsurfing. Whilst out on the water, our instructors will teach the basic skills of making ground upwind and downwind while doing tacking and gybing turning manoeuvres.

Our course maximises time on the water, and we have specialist equipment for young windsurfers so they can make the most of the course.

- Course runs 0930 - 1700 both days
- Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own packed lunch.

- Youth Windsurfing Scheme Syllabus and Logbook included - please add to booking (only 1 free logbook per participant will be honoured). This book contains essential information on the RYA Windsurfing syllabus including the new foiling courses, a section for your personal log entries, and a place to attach the certificates that you earn along the way
- Start Windsurfing Handbook is an optional add-on for the course - The ideal companion for those who have recently begun windsurfing. This is an ideal learning and reference tool. Chapters include Equipment, Rigging, Wind Awareness, Static Turning, Steering and Tacking the Board, Stance, Safety and Self Rescue, Sailing Upwind and Improving Tacking, Sailing Downwind and Gybing
