Sailing Adventure Week - RYA Stage 4
Calshot's premier sailing adventure week - an exciting week for those who want to specialise in the ever-popular sport of sailing. Courses are based on the RYA young sailors scheme and will give children the opportunity to develop their skills in crewed boats under the guidance of our experienced and qualified instructors.
Our dedicated team of instructors will look after your child, ensuring they have the best week full of fun and adventure. Activities will commence on Monday morning and finish on Friday afternoon. Full pastoral support is given while the children are in our care.
Instruction takes place in small teaching groups with safety boats in attendance. This course is based on the RYA young sailors scheme and certificates are given free of charge.
In addition, you may get to go on an expedition, and there is also the equivalent of one shore-based day - with the opportunity to participate in land-based activities such as climbing, skiing and archery. Activities included are subject to change due to weather conditions.
Deposit option:
This course offers the option to pay in full now or pay a deposit of £150 now and pay the balance anytime up to 3 weeks prior to the course start date. This option will be displayed at the payment stage of the checkout. Please note in order for the deposit option to show you must only add this item to your basket.

- Sailing skills to the standard of stage 3 – please see RYA Brochure for assumed knowledge
Residential option:
Drop your child off with us at 8.45am Monday morning and collect at 5pm on Friday. All children will stay in one of our accommodation buildings right here on the stunning Calshot Spit. All meals are included in the price, starting with lunch on Monday followed by an evening meal. Then three meals a day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and breakfast and lunch on Friday.
Non-residential option:
Drop your child off with us each day at 8.45am and collect after they have had a delicious dinner at 6.30pm (daily lunch is included). Friday collection is at 5pm (no dinner is served on the Friday).

Residential option: £490 per person
Non-residential option: £380 per person
Additional Information:
- Youth Sailing Scheme Syllabus and Logbook is an optional add-on for the course - This is the official syllabus and logbook for learning to sail dinghies, keelboats, and multihulls through the RYA National Sailing Scheme.
- Advanced Sailing Handbook is an optional add-on for the course - Designed to accompany the advanced sailing modules in the RYA National Sailing Scheme: Day Sailing, Seamanship skills, Sailing with Spinnakers, Start Racing, Performance Sailing There is an informative but easy to follow format which is packed full of detailed drawings and diagrams. This provides clear instruction on the different manoeuvres, and detailed explanations of relevant sailing theory. It follows on from the first book in the series, the Start Sailing Handbook, and is the perfect progression for people who are hoping to improve their knowledge and skills.
