Start Sailing - RYA Stage 2: Ages 11 - 16
The second step in the RYA youth sailing scheme, this stage 2 course is for those who have completed stage 1 and wish to progress their knowledge and become more confident sailors.
Course content includes improved sailing skills on all points of sail, tacking, gybing, collision avoidance, and ropework. Building confidence sailing and improving boat control and speed.

Requirements:
- Sailing skills to the standard of stage 1 – please see RYA Brochure for assumed knowledge

- Course runs 0930 - 1700 both days
- Lunch is not provided. Please bring your own packed lunch.

- Youth Sailing Scheme Syllabus and Logbook is an optional add-on for the course - This is the official syllabus and logbook for learning to sail dinghies, keelboats, and multihulls through the RYA National Sailing Scheme.
- Start Sailing Handbook is an optional add-on for the course - This is an ideal learning and reference tool packed with the essential knowledge that you need to get afloat, regardless of your age. Each chapter guides you through essential information on areas key to learning the sport. Chapters include Rigging your boat, Going afloat, Basic skills, Tacking, Gybing, Leaving and returning to shore.
- All books will be given to participants on the 1st day of the course.
